This is a big, classical French list, 508 bottles deep and built squarely around Bordeaux and Burgundy, with red wine the clear focus at 235 selections. The Bordeaux spine runs through the top Left Bank and Right Bank communes, Pauillac, Saint Emilion, and Margaux, and Château Margaux alone shows up eleven times, while Burgundy gives you Vosne Romanée and Chassagne Montrachet plus ten listings from Domaine de la Romanée Conti. Champagne is the strongest non still category with 36 producers including Philipponnat and Perrier Jouet, and there is a real spread of California heavyweights like Vérité. Pricing is in yen and runs serious, think 19,000 to 40,000 JPY on the examples we have, so this is a special occasion book, not an everyday pour. One thing to flag for the floor, there is no by the glass program at all, so every recommendation is a full bottle commitment. This list rewards a guest who knows blue chip France and is ready to spend on it.
