Commander's Palace
This is a Grand Award list at full scale, nearly 2,900 bottles built on a French and California spine, with Burgundy, the Rhone, and reserve Cabernet leading the reds and a deep run of Riesling on the white side. The strengths run classical and serious: Domaine Meo Camuzet and E. Guigal anchor France, Sine Qua Non and Verite carry the Napa cult bottlings, and the top end climbs into Romanee Conti and Petrus at five figures. That said, the range is honest for the floor, opening around $8 with a median near $245, so you can find real value without sending a guest to the trophy shelf. The 44 wines by the glass give you room to pour across styles, and the median tells you most of the list sits well below the famous names. This list rewards a guest who knows Burgundy and Bordeaux and wants a benchmark bottle, but it has enough mid range depth to take care of a guest working off a smaller budget.
