Madison's Restaurant & Wine Garden
This is a big, serious cellar of around 1,200 wines, tilted heavily toward red and built around collector grade Burgundy and Bordeaux, with deep verticals from Domaine Dujac, J.F. Mugnier, Leflaive, and a full run of Domaine de la Romanee Conti that tops out at $12,000. California is the largest single region at 148 wines, so there is real domestic weight too, from Cayuse to Opus One. Prices run the whole way, starting at $13 and sitting around a $190 median, which means you can pour someone something honest without pushing them into the trophy bottles. The 28 glass options give you room to work the floor, and there is range beyond the obvious, with sparkling, dessert and fortified, plus a small orange selection. This list rewards the guest who wants Cote d'Or and classed growth Bordeaux, but you can take care of a casual table just as easily.
