This is a Bierzo list first and foremost, with the local region dominating both reds and whites and the cellar built around the producers who put it on the map, above all Descendientes J. Palacios and Raúl Pérez, with Mengoba close behind. It runs deep at 542 wines, heavily red (272), with strong white depth too, and it backs up the home region with serious Champagne, a real chunk of Italian reds, and good Rioja and Castilla y Leon support. Native bottle prices reach down to the 20s and 30s in euros, so there is honest value here alongside the trophies. The 27 glass pours are useful, and note the 16 generosos by the glass for anyone who wants to pour fortified Spanish styles. This list rewards a guest who wants to taste Mencia and the broader Bierzo story from the people who define it.
