Acanto

This is an Italian list at heart, 245 bottles built overwhelmingly around red wine, with 169 reds against a thin showing of whites, rosé, and sparkling. The depth is in Piedmont and the Veneto, with producers like Bartolo Mascarello, Oddero, and Sottimano carrying the Barolo and Barbaresco end, and Quintarelli anchoring serious Valpolicella and Amarone. Bottles run from $50 to $2,800 with a median near $150, so there is real range, but the top end gets rare fast, think Vietti Barolo at $2,800 and Soldera Case Basse pushing past a thousand. There is no glass program at all, so every guest is committing to a full bottle, and you should steer accordingly. This list rewards a red drinker who knows Italy and is ready to spend, less so anyone hunting whites or a quick pour.
