Brennan's Restaurant

This is a Grand Award cellar in the truest sense, over 3,000 wines built on a deep spine of Burgundy and Napa Cabernet, with red far outweighing everything else at more than 1,300 selections. The strengths run classic and blue chip: Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Guigal and Clos Rougeard in the Old World, Heitz, Opus One, Ridge and Shafer Hillside Select on the California side, plus a serious Champagne and Grande Marques run that tops out with Salon and Krug Rare in five figures. Bottles open at $14 and climb to $20,000 with a median around $270, so there is real range, but make no mistake, the gravity of this list sits in collector territory. The glass program is small, just 15 pours, so anyone who wants to drink seriously here is buying a bottle. This list rewards the guest who knows the great names and wants the trophy, more than the one looking to explore by the glass.
