Charlie's L'Etoile Verte

This is a red wine list, plain and simple, with 212 of 255 bottles red and almost nothing for whites, sparkling, or by the glass, so guests are buying full bottles. It is built around two pillars, Northern Rhone Syrah and California, with Marcel Guigal the deepest name on the list at 34 listings including La Turque and La Mouline near the top of the price ladder, and Shafer running 24 deep on the Napa side. Bordeaux fills the prestige tier, heavy in Margaux and Pauillac with Chateau Palmer and the First Growths Haut Brion and Margaux pushing past 2,000 dollars. Bottles run from 68 up to 2,700 with a median around 235, so there is real entry level access alongside the trophy bottles. It rewards a guest who wants Rhone Syrah or Napa Cabernet and is ready to commit to a bottle.
