The Crossing
This is a serious, red leaning list of 497 wines, 314 red to 95 white, with 39 Champagne and sparkling selections and 31 more under other categories. The bench runs deep at the top, topping out at $3,000, while the $12 floor and $125 median leave real room for guests who do not want to spend big. Strengths span Napa Cabernet through Opus One, grower Champagne via Billecart Salmon, Burgundy at the very top with Romanee Conti Echezeaux Grand Cru, Super Tuscan through Tenuta di Trinoro, further California depth via Chateau Montelena, and Piedmont via Francesco Rinaldi Barolo. The 55 glass pours make this a genuine by the glass program as well as a bottle list. Vintages run all the way back to 1964, giving real cellar depth alongside current releases.
